3 Day Cruise To Nassau From Port Canaveral

Hi we did this cruise 2 years ago. Are you on the Sovereign on the Seas Ship? We tried this as our first cruise and absolutely loved it and went again last year only on the Carnival Glory. There was only one formal night over the 3 nights so I took a nice sun dress, hubby wore a suit and two teens wore khaki slacks and nice button up shirts. As far as the other evenings, we ate at the sit down nice dining room and again I wore a sundress or skirt and light top. Guys wore khakis and button up short sleeved tops for the nights that were not the formal. During the day pretty much anything goes. We never walked into the restaurants in our swim suits always had on shorts, tops, skirt or coverup. The evening shows are great and we went every night. Cocoa Cay was a fun day not sure if you are stopping there? The BBQ for lunch on the little island was wonderful! If I can help with other questions let me know!

3 Day Cruise To Nassau From Port Canaveral

How much does a cruise like this cost?

Is Port Canaveral easy to get to from Orlando?

Thanks

NathanGunn,

We took that cruise in October two years ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately the weather was too rough for us to go to the private island and that was a disappointment. The food is acceptable. Some of the other RC ships are better. If this is your first cruise it is like half a glass of wine, not enough to quench your thirst, but enough to give you a taste.

We found the buffet to be much better than the main dining room. One advantage to the buffet is that on formal night you do not have to dress up if you don%26#39;t want to. Some of the specialty restaurants were also quite nice and I recommend sampling them.

The entertainment on all the RC ships is quite good. We always catch the show in the theater. Sometimes there are other programs in the theater like the Captain%26#39;s talk that are interesting and worth attending. Definitely attend the shopping breifings for the free stuff!

Sometimes they do ';adult'; games late at night in the bars. These are hysterical and not to be missed.

The real issue as far as I am concerned is the three day format. We recently did a four day cruise out of Tampa and found the same problem. It%26#39;s over too soon.

I hope you enjoy your cruise and before you leave the ship, you sign up for a longer one so you can see why I love cruising so much.

Norameryside,

The cost of these cruises start at about $300 per person double occupancy and go up depending on the cabin and time of year.

Several companies run shuttles from the Orlando Airport and from the attractions area. There are also

nearby rental car agencies where you can drop a rental car if you have been using it for the rest of your vacation in Orlando.

It%26#39;s easy and it%26#39;s fun.

Check out the Royal Carribean and Carnival web sites for details. Also check out the companion site to this one Cruise Critic for more information and reviews.

Yes the ship is the Sovereign Of The Seas .

We paid 拢278 for two people, we picked the cheapest cabin as I expect you will just be using it for sleeping.

Does anybody know what time you can board the ship and also how much is car parking.

Thanks alot for your advice.

NatahnGunn,

The published time you can get on the ship is Noon.

Due to scheduling issues (we left work at noon) on our end we got there at 3:30 and were among the last ones on the ship.

We took the Radiance out of Fort Lauderdale once and got admitted to the public areas at 11:30 although we could not go to our cabins until 1:00. We took another ship out of Tampa whose name escapes me for now and we did not get on the ship until 2:00 PM.

Sorry, I can%26#39;t help you with the parking fee, but I think it is on the web site.

How much is the shuttle service from the airport,or from a disney value hotel to the the cruise???

CruisingtoRetirement,

You are correct about the parking fee. I managed to find it on the Port Canaveral webiste. $15 dollars a day.

Hi NathanGunn

We did a similar cruise to Bahamas from Miami with Royal Caribbean. We thought it was fantastic, especially considering the amount we paid for six, I think about 拢170 each but it was for 4 nights October 2007. We stayed in outside cabins, quite small but we managed 2 adults, 13 year and 7 year old in one cabin, 2 teenage boys in cabin next door same size except no bunks above. All the staff we met were very courteous, helpful and friendly, do not have a bad word to say

We cruised on Majesty of the Seas and I used Cruise Critic to pick up ideas.

In Nassau we took a ferry across to Blackbeards Cay, booked as we arrived in Nassau at the tourist desk, I think about $60 for six, be careful as you arrive, lots of people trying to get us to get a taxi, trips around the island etc. We spent 3 hours at Blackbeards Cay, really enjoyed it, teenage sons and hubby did Jetskis.

We originally wanted to do a trip called Powerboat Adventures, looked fantastic, very expensive, but it was fully booked when we telephoned on arrival in Nassau, but check out their website.

We went back to the boat for lunch and in the afternoon took a taxi to Cabbage beach on Paradise Island, again price was good, so we had a really cheap day out in the Bahamas.

Majesty sailed at around 11pm, they do late buffets, ice carving, music etc, excellent value cruise and a change from Orlando and theme parks for a few days.

We loved Orlando, especially Island of Adventures, but wanted to see as much of Florida and Bahamas as possible, as it was a special family holiday before teenagers decide not to come on holiday.

hope you enjoy
