Best Beach to visit from Disney

Hi guys,

Thinking of taking a drive to the coast to spend the day at the beach but which way to go, East or West?

I would love to hear which beaches you rate.

imo siesta key on the gulf of mexico is the most stunning beach. sugar sand and clear water. its just beautiful and less than 2 hours from wdw.

the gulf has finer sand and calmer waters, the east coast has coarser grainer sand and big waves. the east is also closer to wdw - about an hour instead of two. up to you which you prefer!

Go West

Clearwater/st. petes Beaches are little further to drive then going to the East Coasr but much nicer, IMO :)

It depends what you are looking for. My guys prefer the East Coast (cocoa or new smyrna) as it has the waves for boogie boarding!

Check out the Daytona Beach forum for lists of all the things you can do besides the beach. You can parasail, rent an ATV to ride on the beach, or a golf cart, bicycle, boogie board, ski doo, go to Ponce Inlet lighthouse, Angel and Phelps free chocolate factory tour. Greyhound racing, Speedway track tour, IMAX. We have done several beaches on both coasts, we only go to the Daytona area now.
