I need some insite on where to stay that is middle ground in prices but very well kept. I have not been to Daytona since I was 16.About 30 yrs.
We usually go north but would like to start going back to Fla. Are there any campgrounds?
Thanks:)
everything from hotels to food to adventure
We can recommend the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn, it has lovely grounds, a great staff, clean spacious rooms, balconies, great beach access, large pool, mangager%26#39;s free happy hour each evening at the attached Trader%26#39;s restaurant, everything in the area is fairly close.
Don%26#39;t miss Aunt Catfish%26#39;s on the river for good southern cooking.
I am sure there are some campgrounds nearby, but don%26#39;t personally know about them.

thanks for the info! I know it has changed quite a bit since i was last there!
hi all! there are several campgrounds...what type of camping are you doing?? primitive, rv etc...there is tomoka state park, bulow plantation (rvs or tents, just north of daytona near flagler but is a beautiful park with a pool and great drive through the loop over to the daytona area, very wooded and natural), there is an oceanfront rv campground at the coral sands in ormond which you get use of their great pool...there is also an oceanside state park, gamble rogers that has rv spots (don%26#39;t know about primitive spots there, they book up fast)...we have always had a great time camping in daytona...enjoy!!!
Ponce Inlet lighthouse and museums are still nearby, the Speedway tour and IMAX, greyhound racing, Angel and Phelps free chocolate factory tour (maybe half an hour), you may rent ATVs, golf carts, bikes to ride on the beach, or parasailing, seadoo rentals. The Aku Tiki Inn just sent me a flier for $99.00 a night, you may do better if you have any discounts, military, government, AAA, etc.
Thanks bunches :)!! We do rv-fifth wheel camping.
All info gives us lots of ideas. I am excited about getting to go back. I had so much fun back in the day. And now that it is just to two of us even better.
Yes, the Tomoka State Park is really nice. Check out daytonabeach.com for more. Tomoka State Park is closest to the beaches.
Thanks! i will check it out!
