It%26#39;ll be hot and I don%26#39;t just mean the weather. There probably are some deals to be found and the air fare(s) aren%26#39;t too bad (yet?!?). Aiming at mid-August but haven%26#39;t pulled the trigger yet.

August Roll Call

We fly Austin - FLL on Aug 13, spend one night in Key Largo (hotel still TBD) and then drive on to spend 5 nights in Key West. We%26#39;ll spend our last night in FLL before flying home on the 20th. So, we%26#39;ll be in KW Aug 14-19.

We are staying with my parents, who live there. They manage a property for someone, and they have a nice room with a private bath, separate from their apartment, that they keep empty for when family visits. It%26#39;s a nice location, a couple blocks off Duval, and there%26#39;s a deck with a jacuzzi. I figure we are easily saving about $750-$1000 by staying with them.

No concrete activity plans yet - want to do a sunset sail one night, and will rent an electric car for a day. My Dad is arranging bicycles for us to use the whole time we are there. We%26#39;ll have some nice dinners out and some good Mom%26#39;s cooking in. I am not big on going to the beach there, because I get bit to death by the no-see-ums, so we are thinking of hanging by the pool at Dante%26#39;s at least a little. I want to visit Hemmingway House, which we%26#39;ve not done on any of our previous visits, and just tour the island, enjoying the sights and sounds of such a beautiful place.

We shall be arriving in Key West on 2nd August, getting married on the 5th August and leaving Key West on 9th, heading for Anna Maria island for the rest of our honeymoon!! We are so excited!

aug 20-26 with the boys!!

We%26#39;re flying from Dallas to FLL and though I bought the tickets several months ago, I paid $175/each for round-trip tickets. We%26#39;ll be in KW August 14-19 and we%26#39;re staying at the Best Western Hibiscus - $637 total for the five nights through Costco Travel. We%26#39;re spending the last two days 8/19-21 in Ft. Lauderdale at the Bahia Mar - I paid around $226 thru Priceline.

We%26#39;re doing the trolley tour, Hemmingway%26#39;s house, Truman%26#39;s house, Shipwreck Museum, KW Aquarium and the Ghost Tour. We are also going to sknorkel Looe Key. We bought the tickets for the tours thru Trusted Tours and saved a bit. 23 days....

Have you ever stayed at Bahia Mar before? We stayed there last year on the night before flying back to TX, and it was beautiful! Our room was quite large and clean, with a walk in closet and spacious bathroom. It%26#39;s right across the road from the beach, and walking distance from quite a few waterfront restaurants. We got the room through Priceline and were nervous about whether we%26#39;d like it. We were more than happy with it. Our room overlooked the marina and the ocean. There is a nice pool with a small bar. No complaints at all.

We haven%26#39;t stayed there and we are a bit nervous too but I%26#39;ve seen that their reviews have greatly improved. We booked through Priceline as well, we named our price. This is actually be our first time to Florida so we%26#39;re all very excited.

Festivities include Friday%26#39;s Lobsterfest Duval Crawl, Street Fair and FREE concert Saturday, and Sunday Lobster Brunch.

July 31st to Aug. 2nd. Short but sweet. Can%26#39;t wait.

We will be in KW 8/4 - 8/7 for our 25th anniversary! We are staying at the KW Harbor Inn. It may be cooler in KW than here! It was 99 on Sunday!

We%26#39;ll be there the 14th - 21st. Staying at Heron House Court. I%26#39;ve heard it%26#39;s a little walk to Duval but I think we will need that after hearing about all the great food we will be tempted with.

The only thing we have ';planned'; is the Danger sail on the 16th for my partner%26#39;s birthday. It will be the first time snorkling and kayaking for both of us. It sounds like it will be one of the best parts of our trip and good for some laughs.

Hopefully we will get to see some of the TA gang while we are there.
