Live from Orlando, happy despite the rain!

Hi all, we are having a fab time despite the weather.

We went down to Gatwick last Wedsnesday, did bag drop and stayed at the Best Western which were running an American Express deal of a family room with B%26amp;B for 拢85. Flew BA on Thurs 14th, excellent flight, really rate BA over Virgin!

Arrived about 20 mins early at MCO, straight thro%26#39; immigration by going to right hand side (take note!) collected bags, did 2nd drop off, collected bags again then collected car from Dollar (booked via Airline Network) using Dollar Express line.....sign up for this it will save loads of time!

Arrived at Windsor Hills around 4.45pm.....beautiful villa, just as in the pictures but really not suitable for those without a car, then went to Carrabas (Italian) nearby around 6.30pm. Crashed out around 9pm (2am GMT)

Woke up very early, were at Publix when it opened at 7am, got some stuff, dropped it off and then to Seaworld....lovely time, did Shamu, children%26#39;s area, got a frozen lemonade, took it easy and went back to villa about 3pm as we were hot and tired. Had a swim and relaxed, then went to Celebration Town Tavern in Celebration and had a lovely meal....love the area...then back to bed...

Spent Sat morning at DTD, had lunch at Rainforest Cafe which was great, got the boat to Port Orleans Riverside, walked around, then caught the Disney transportation to Magic Kingdom, from there on to resort monorail to the Contemporary (lots of construction going on), then to Grand Floridian (wow wow wow!) then monorail to TTC and changed to monorail to Epcot (didn%26#39;t seem busy), bus to Coronado Springs then another bus back to DTD. Back to villa via Publix to pick up some bits for supper. Really enjoyable day without costing a penny!

Got up early on Sunday and checked into Royal Pacific, left bags at luggage services and given express pass room keys for Sun and Mon....can%26#39;t recommend this highly enough...we did IOA and Universal easily in the 2 days skipping the lines and did some things more than once. Biggest tip is the souvenir cup, initial outlay is $6.99, but all refills thereafter are 69c...what a bargain! Loved the hotel, the water taxi to Citywalk and being able to eat and drink without having to drive.

Today has been very very wet! We have spent the day at Walmart on Turkey Lake Road, Mall of Millenia and The Cheesecake Factory so having a fab time despite the rain! No lightening at Windsor Hills, and kids are happy in the pool as we write...off to get sth to eat shortly....

Will sign in again later in the week....

Glad you%26#39;re having a great time. Cheers for the tip about the re-fillable cups, 69c a re-fill - bargain!!!

Enjoy the rest of the trip and stay safe!

:)

If you pick the rainy season to go the Florida you shouldn%26#39;t be surprised if it rains a lot, or complain.

If you dont like it raining pick another time to go.

April /May or Oct/ Nov .

June to October it typically Hurricane season lots of unpredictable adverse weather.

But June to mid Sept you can predict rain

XR759 its not just raining here - its tropical storm Fay, i know we are here in the hurricane season but to actually be here with a high threat of a hurricane hitting is, imo, slightly different - we have been on flood watch, tornado watch, all the local schools were closed yesterday, where we are they are open today, but there are still a lot of schools in other counties closed today, as TS Fay goes up the east coast. The shopping malls closed at 5pm yesterday instead of 11pm, lots of restaurants of I drive were closed, not sure what time the parks closed, but i know wet n wild was shut yesterday, not sure about other parks, maybe this is normal for this time of year, but the news are making it huge news out here!

Mossyflossy, so good your having fab time, we went up to Royal Pacific Hotel on sat night and ate at Tchoup choup, got the water taxi to City Walk, its a very good way to transport people isnt it, i think only guests are allowed on, but we just said we had eaten at tchoup choup and our cars where back at royal pacific and didnt have a problem. The hotel looks fab, and you done exactly what i suggested we maybe should have done, stayed at the hotel to get through the parks with ease.

We went to Mall of Millenia too on monday, walked past the cheesecake factory and remembered all i%26#39;d read on here, bypassed it though as we didnt have time, were meeting friends.

Mossy flossy, I agree that the day you went looking around and doing the monorail is quite fun. We did that one day when we were there. Nothing to buy, and some of those resorts we just looked at each other and said this will be the closest we will ever come, because we could never afford the GF.It was fun on the monorail and my girls really enjoy. Its sometimes the little things that mean something. We also just stopped whenever and got food, ice cream, etc.

Hi again all, through the worst of the storm now, it%26#39;s now windy and a bit wet but otherwise ok.

Forgot to mention that for all you X factor fans Andy was in the mall shopping yesterday, what a nice man, we asked him to sing but he said his voice was on holiday!

XR, find your post extraordinary, we didn%26#39;t complain about the rain, far from it, we%26#39;re having a fab time, so sounds like sour grapes to us. We have kids so are limited to school holidays, whatever the weather. Anyhow, glad you%26#39;re at home and not here to enjoy it too if that%26#39;s how you feel!

Dawn, sounds like we%26#39;re one day behind you! The front of line passes for Universal and Islands of Adventure were simply the best thing ever. Universal was heaving on Monday and we just skipped straight through it!

Dene, totally agree, we had the best time resort hopping.

Now trying to decide what to do today...so many choices!!!

Love the live report! It%26#39;s good to hear that y%26#39;all aren%26#39;t letting a bit of liquid sunshine spoil your trip.

7 Days for Me!
