Hi Everyone!
I am planning a trip to the keys in May and don%26#39;t know what key to stay in. All I want is to stay in a clean place on the beach, nothing fancy or noisy, actually the more seculeded the better. But I%26#39;ve heard thst there aren%26#39;t many beaches on the keys. Any recomendations? Should I go somewhere else in Florida?
Thanks!
What key should I stay in?Not many beaches compared to the rest of the Florida coasts. The Keys are mainly for snorkeling or scuba diving or for swamp boat rides. Probably best to stay in the upper keys so you can take trips into Miami etc if you%26#39;re disappointed with the lower keys.
For the best white sand beaches though, the Siesta Key area in Sarasota or even in the Pensacola area are the best. In May you will just avoid the Summer crowds.
What key should I stay in?You may want to try the gulf side. I have a time share on Captiva Island (South Seas Resorts)but it is still closed from the hurricanes 2 years ago. Sanibell and Captiva are great islands to go relax on. Very Quite!

I agree with KB %26amp; Chuts. If you want a great beach, there are other areas that might suit you better than the keys. If you do go there, probably the upper and middle keys are where you would want to stay.
Beautiful beaches are all around the Sarasota area. For secluded, you might want to look more in the Sanibel area. Also check out Marco Island. May in this area is usually off-season and the rates should be lower.
Thanks!
First of all, there are no swamp boat rides in the Keys! The poster may be thinking of air boat rides in the Everglades. The Keys have MUCH to offer, even if all you want is to sit on a beach. Here in Marathon and Key Colony Beach, there are many resorts and condos with beautiful white sand beaches. As for things to do, the list is endless, from scuba and snorkel, to the best fishing anywhere, to swimming with dolphins, to great dining/drinking/entertainment. And, we%26#39;re a beautiful one hour drive from Key West, the adult Disney World. Come on down!
I think Chuts forgot to say the incredable fishing. When we hit the keys my husband thinks he%26#39;s died and gone to heaven.
