Off the beaten path/local restaurants - recommendations, pls

Hi All,

My son %26amp; I are visiting the Naples region in a few weeks

Would be grateful to hear about some of your favorite dining establishments - ideally, reasonably priced, local restaurants that tourists wouldn%26#39;t typically frequent - but will good food, of course

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Please provide address/website (or general area/location), as we are not familiar w/the area

Try Luigi%26#39;s and Little Italy. Both are VERY Good. Both are on the trail down around Davis. I don%26#39;t have the exact addresses though.

Hi Piece,

Amadors is very good for reasonably priced American Italian (parmagiana, francese, picata, etc). For true authentic Italian I prefer Campiello%26#39;s but they are a bit more expensive and worth it. You will find some tourists here because it is on Third Street South which is a main attraction in Naples.

For burgers I like Boston Beer Garden

For seafood try Randy%26#39;s Fish Market

Pelagos Cafe (greek)has had great reviews although I have never tried it.

Meson Ole for Mexican is very good.

Here are address/websites:

A great overlooked place for breakfast is The Trail, on 41 North in North Naples. We%26#39;ve never had a better breakfast in Naples.

D%26#39;Amico at the intersection of 41 South and Neopolitan Drive has good inexpensive Italian food and wine. It is owned by the Campiello family.

We were pleasantly surprised with Brio, an Italian restaurant that is part of a medium size chain. It is located in the Waterside Mall (Saks and many upscale shops), and is near the Philharmonic. Pasta dishes were reasonably priced and you will love their mini-desserts at $1.99 each.

Just had a look at the Trail the menu looks great will be having a visit to there, we also like Johny Rockets at Coconut Point not only for a snack but also for the entertainment from the staff, always full when we have been shopping at the Mall.....laura

A tip on Johnny Rockets:

Sign up for e-mail on their website and they will occasionally send coupons for discounts or 2fers.

Everyone has giving you great ideas! Here are a couple more.

The Real Macaw

The Bay House

The Fish House in Bonita Springs

The Sandy Parrot in S. Fort Myers

All of these are a little off the beaten path except for the Sandy Parrot. Its new and right on US41.

You can visit www.MenuVenueSWFL.com for a complete list of the areas restaurants and search for the type of cuisine that is suit you right.

Hope this helps!

Thanks again, everyone

A lot of these are new names i haven%26#39;t heard of before (having done some research on the Boards %26amp; other sites)

Any additional suggestions greatly appreciated...
