Drinking Water in Disney

We will be visiting during July and object to paying park prices for bottled water (family of five) and can only carry so much and that will probably be gone within the hour.

Are there water fountains/drinking taps in all the parks where we can re-fill our own bottles, if so does anyone know of their locations as we can then re-fill when in that area.

How much per person should we aim to drink each day to remain hydrated - there are dangers in taking too much water as well as too little.

hi there

dont know about the water fountains but we take our own- i have been lucky as my now 4 year old as always been in his stroller, so have able to store them on this, however this year will be different as he will walk most of the time. I will just take a rucksack a put a few bottles in that.

There are lockers where you can store your items. I usually take 2 to 3 bottles each, depending on how long you are in the park, when we had meals in the parks the childrens meal usually came with a drink.

you should on avarage drink 8 pints a day when in the uk so with the hot weather you should be thinking about 10 pints there is plenty of water fountains but i would not use them every got there mouths round them all the time you can bu refillable mugs in the parks you pay one price dont after that if there free or you pay a reduced rate

hi there are wa\er fountains outside every toilet block in all the parks

bottled water is not a luxury its a necessity. If you cannot carry water around and cannot find a fountain you will need to buy some, bottom line.

There are fountains about and we often made use of them, bottled water is around $2.50 ( i believe) with the exchange rate this is hardly a fortune.

Not getting dehydrated is vital, we would not hesitste buying bolttled water if necessary, but at 拢6.50 a go (for 5 of us) if we needed to purchase on the hour every hour for a week it soon adds up.

Will take some in, re-fill as and when, and will always buy when necessary.

My advice would be to use the drinking fountains - you don%26#39;t have to put your mouth around the tap! Take in a couple of bottles and refill as necessary. Your body will tell you when you need water - as soon as you start to feel even the slightest bit thirsty then have a drink - better to take regular sips than take in a litre in one go. There are plenty of fountains around the park and not just near the rest rooms. Have a great trip!

HI,

There are water fountains everywhere in the parks and I didn%26#39;t see anyone put their mouths around the actual tap as theres no need as the water shoots up.But the one thing I have to say is I found the water tasted not very nice at all and was actually most of the time warm,so warm not nice water meant I bought bottles and you will notice that any drink you buy or take will be warm in as little as 15 minutes,so your best bet is see if you like the water in the fountains and fill up every 20 minutes or so or if your buying get 2 at a time and share that way you all get a cool drink rather than pay out for 5 and it be warm in no time.

One suggestion I have for the ';drinking fountain'; water that tastes so bad is to get those small packs of Crystal Light singles that you pour into water and just shake up.

This will cut the bad taste of the water somewhat, but still allow you to have a ';sugar free'; drink to keep you from dehydrating.

I take several of these with me each day to the park and just use them when I need a water refil from the drinking fountains.

Thanks for this useful tip - how did we manage before these fantastic forums?

Never heard of these crystals in the UK, where can we get them (and how much do they cost?)

Well, they sell the Crystal Light singles in boxes at nearly every grocery store in the U.S. They come in several flavors too.

Walmart has a generic brand of them that is less expensive. I%26#39;ve tried the tea flavor, the fruit punch, and the raspberry and all are pretty good.
