Hi everyone,
I want to go to Disney World the first week of September 2008 (I have not gotten tickets yet). I know that Tropical Storm Fay is in the area at the moment. Can someone tell me how long these type of weather conditions usually last for? Would you recommend that I stick to my plans and assume that the storm will ride out by then?
Thanks.
Tropical Storm Fay, September 2008
Faye,
The storm should have past well before September, unless a new one surfaces!.
Tropical Storm Fay, September 2008
Fay should be over by Thursday as far as Orlando is concerned.
No woories...the Fay will be gone by the first week in Sept. Should be gone by the weekend but not reports don%26#39;t know quite which course she will take. It%26#39;s my Dad%26#39;s fault. He fly down from PA last Sat. I told him he would bring a storm in. LOL...
Even though this storm will be gone, can%26#39;t guarrantee there won%26#39;t be another one out there. It%26#39;s peak time of year afterall.
It%26#39;ll be gone by the end of the week...even if it stalls.
It%26#39;s only a tropical storm. No need to worry. Unless it%26#39;s above a cat 3, it%26#39;ll only be around for a day or two.
its going out into the ocean again and turning back into a hurricane, then curving and coming back over jacksonville... all should be clear by the weekend though
Fay must be being steered by some couple... ';Honey I know EXACTLY where we are, we are NOT lost.'; ';Really dear, you should stop and ask for directions...';
Have you seen the path?? Or the projected path?? No one really knows where she%26#39;s going...they%26#39;re making it up... I%26#39;m convinced.
There was one TS a few years back that was doing loop de loops out in the middle of the ocean -- no one could figure that one out! As far as the category goes, that doesn%26#39;t really have anything to do with how long it does or doesn%26#39;t stick around. Charley was a bad hurricane, but it was in and out of Orlando like a flash and not much rain came along with it. Fay is much more of a rain maker and is slower moving.
The hurricane that did the ';loop-de-loop'; out in the Atlantic was Hurricane Jeanne in September, 2004.
We were at Disney at the time Jeanne was looping around out there in the Atlantic and it was ';coming ashore'; on the day we left to go home.
That was a very weird storm.
As of the 2pm fix on August 20 (posted just minutes ago)
Fay is no longer expected to manage to make it to a full-on hurricane, and they believe it will dissipate to a depression by Friday afternoon.
Lots of rain, kinda windy, but that%26#39;s about it...and it%26#39;s driving the Weather Channel nuts that there%26#39;s little to no destruction, and nobody dying. Here on the West Coast, we%26#39;ve never even gotten any rain.
Stick to your plans -- nothing to see here, folks.
