Please can anybody suggest a good Fishing charter boat, there will only be 2 of us and we will be in Key west in October.

Thanks

Fishing in key west

I like Billy Wickers and the Linda D V. He wins piles of tournaments and knows where the fish are. I was out with him recently for tarpon. What a day! Linda D V, Charter Boat Row, %% 305-304-8102, www.charterboatlindad.com. Captain Billy Wickers III

Fishing in key west

On our last trip down to Key West I went fishing with Captain Greg (Bonez) and Captain Craig (Doc) on Kingbird Charters (305) 731-3139.

Had a great time. Caught fish (the largest was a 20 pound dolphin fish), almost lost a finger (JUST KIDDING BONEZ) (Watch Simeith and PJ057 jump on me like a trampoline about that comment).

They go out of Gieger Key Marina. WELL worth the short drive.

Jeezeee!!!!!! Still with the finger???? My lord!!! Hahaha Just wait until next time. I%26#39;m thinking I%26#39;ve got a spot for you during the Marlin Tourny.

For the record Buffettguy is an ';OK'; angler, He even learned how to make leaders...I think he aspires to be a mate on a fishing boat. ;)

Bonez

I%26#39;ll bring the band-aids for you Greg.

1) Buffettguy is an OK angler? OK? Thats like saying snowmen fear May in Minnesota.

2) I can only hope to learn enough to be a mate on a charter someday. THAT would be a dream job for me. Hard work, but D A M N I%26#39;d get to be on the water almost every day.

I can highly recommend Capt. Bonez. He has gone 10 days without a drowning now. LOL And as for that whiny buffetguy, for crying out loud it was a tiny scrape because you didn%26#39;t grab the fishing line the way Bonez told you to. And I%26#39;ll tell you folks, this was not ';Jaws'; on the other end, it was a schoolie.

OK a disclaimer here. I know these guys. Bonez is a first rate fishing charter operator, and buffetguy is a wimp who whines like a little girl when he gets a scrape. LOL j/k big guy, you know I%26#39;m not serious....mostly. :)

I would highly recommend this charter. They know the water very well and have been at this a long time.

We have fishing here?!? I gotta get out more often!

Seriously, there are many great charters with great captains and crews. We tend to recommend those we%26#39;ve fished with and Captain Daniels is top notch! (Even if it SEEMS like he looses some of his client%26#39;s body parts from time to time - Quit yer whining Buffetguy! Ya have nine other perfectly fine fingers!) LOL

I%26#39;ve used Almost There charters 3x - 1 shark trip, 1 general, 1 bonefish backcountry trips - all three were very successful. I%26#39;ve found there are better for backcountry/shallow water trips.

I prefer the shallow water trips (in comparison to deep sea charters) because if your target species isn%26#39;t biting, you can always fish for red fish in demolition channel off the naval base (near seal base - and you might see an occasional navy seal pop out of the water).

What do you use for bait for a Navy Seal? A girl friend wants to know.
