Is this a reasonable price for rtn flights in September?

From Glasgow to Sanford including car hire and full insurance for 拢600.00? Flights with First Choice.

Is this a reasonable price for rtn flights in September?

600 each? we normally fly from manchester but tht seems like a poor deal. september is out of season so you can normally pick up bargain flights. i dont know which companies fly from glasgow but we got returns from manchester last year for under 300 each in late september. i would also go to travel agents rather than just search the internet as off peak they sometimes can offer free travel insurance etc. i owuld check out travelocity and travelcitydirect, do rtavel supermarket etc and then if you can%26#39;t find cheaper phone flightcentre and see what they can offer and do all the travel agents. when you go in make sure to speak to someone who knows what they%26#39;re doing, don%26#39;t pick the dopey girl who doesn%26#39;t know her abc%26#39;s, they won%26#39;t get you good deals, a manager or someone will though.

how many people are traveling what dates what kind of car

Don%26#39;t go for this - at the present time you will get a scheduled flight from Glasgow or Edinburgh with British Airways via Gatwick for approx 拢460 or better still fly Continental from Glasgow or Edinburgh via Newark for 拢378 - Both these airlines allow two pieces of luggage (2 x 23kgs) as opposed to one with a charter airline. Assuming you are not travelling alone you will get a car for two weeks with all insurances combined for approx 拢200 depending on the size of the car. If there are just two people book the smallest car - you will generally get an upgrade and at no extra cost as there is always a shortage of small cars, especially at the present time with the fuel costs. Two people travelling as above and you will save over the cost to Sanford, more than two people and the saving is more. Also, as a bonus you will fly into Orlando International Airport which is far better located than Sanford and adds to the magic of a holiday to Orlando. Sanford is okay but it reminds me too much of a Spanish Airport on the Costas. To check prices go to a good website like Kayak and travel, if you can, midweek to get these great prices - travelling at the weekend is more expensive. I know this may be difficult but it is worth it - try and get a flight on a Tues, Wed or Thur - plus it helps get over the jet lag prior to going back to work !!

Hi Disney

Have a look on this website for advice on how to get flights as cheap as possible, ';moneysavingexpert.com'; it gives tips such as ring them all up and whoever gives you the cheapest, ring back the others and quote that and ask if they can beat it! There%26#39;s lots of good tips on there.

I have to say, not a good price for flight and car for Sept in general, and esp bad for Sept charter flights as it is a slow period.

In the last year I got flights and car for 拢550 for June(direct with Virgin incl car and ins), Nov for under 拢400pp inc car and ins direct with Virgin, flights for July08 incl car and ins direct with BA for under 拢600pp, and in Oct08 for under 拢540pp incl car and ins, again direct with BA.

Hi there,

I am flying with First Choice from Glasgow in Sep also. I have upgraded to Star Class Premier and paid nearly 拢750 per seat (including car hire and insurance).

Can I ask the date of the flight you are looking at? I know that there aren%26#39;t many seats left on one of the Sep flights. The price hasn%26#39;t changed much since the start of the year.

I know this seems expensive especially to those who don%26#39;t normally fly from Glasgow but this is standard prices from Glasgow to Sanford on a Flight Only or Fly Drive basis, flights from Glasgow just seem to be getting more and more expensive.

I have used scheduled airlines previously to get to Orlando, once from Glasgow to Sanford via Newark with Continential and once with Virgin from Manchester. Wouldn%26#39;t do it again even if the price was right, with Continential our Glasgow to Newark flight was delayed meaning we missed our connecting flight. We had to wait until next flight. Also there was no seat-back tv screens with Continential from Glasgow which left my daughter a little bored on such a long flight. Going to Manchester just isn%26#39;t worth the hassle in my opinion but if you think you can do it then you may get a cheaper deal.

For me the flight is an important part of the holiday and I want things to run smoothly, that%26#39;s why I prefer to fly direct from Glasgow.

It%26#39;s true that Orlando airport is nearer than Sanford but an extra 40-50 minutes drive is preferable to me than spending 4 hours driving to Manchester.

Whichever you decide, good luck and have a great holiday!

Opps mistake, meant to say schedules flight to Orlando not Sanford.

I have to connect, as I can%26#39;t drive anywhere that has international flights.

I%26#39;ve flown out of Man, but mostly LGW/LHR. And I%26#39;ve never but once had a big delay (caused by broken part on a small Caribbean island so they had to fly a part in frm Miami. Was a delay of 6 hours. With a charter airline would have been 24+ hours as they can%26#39;t %26#39;fly a part in%26#39;, they flya another plane in.

That price may be standard for Glasgow. And maybe I%26#39;d pay that if I lived there and the flights were for a more pop time of year.

But I wouldn%26#39;t for Sept for sure. But that%26#39;s me.

Hi

Have you noticed hoe much the flights have increased in a very short period because of the oil price? I booked my holiday a month ago and if i booked exactly the same today i would pay 拢320 more. I%26#39;ve been looking for flights for next year and have to say i%26#39;m surprised at the prices being quoted.

Personally i would pay a bit more for a direct flight, i always panic about delays and terminal changes.

millyx

Too much. Check the BA sale and Airline Network.

I would not fly with First Choice anyway - you cannot trust them ( in my opinion )

Also forget the stupid car deal it will be a con ... book it yourself.
