Can my husband use his UK prescription to purchase the above in Florida or will he need to have a sight test in the US?

i was wondering this as well , could save a few pennies on a good pair of shades - can anyone help us short-sighted ones ???

If you know your prescription, I am almost certain they will sell you glasses here. Keep in mind if you have bifocals or trifocals it will probably take a week or more to get them.

A nice option are the lenses that are clear and then turn dark when you go out into the sunlight and then back clear when you go indoors. I recommend them to avoid needing two pairs or using clip on sunglasses.

I believe you will have to have a written script for the glasses from a licensed eye doctor.

You should be able to get the sunglasses in the states if you take a copy of your prescription out there with you. Walmart opticians were very helpful when we were last out there and my OH broke his glasses. I too would recommend the transitions lenses. My OH found it a pain in the neck to be constantly changing his glasses while we were at the parks.

If you are going to discovery cove you can also get prescription goggles so it%26#39;s worth knowing your prescription before you go.

i would not buy reactor glasses i have some its a pain when you go in from the sun it takes forever to change

They are not instantaneous, but mine change back to clear quick enough that the short duration while they change back to clear is worth it compared to having two pairs to deal with or the clip ons. And they do start to turn back to clear immediately after you enter a building or under a canopy, it just takes a minute or two. I wouldn%26#39;t go without them now that I have had them for ten years.

I%26#39;m kind of assuming here that licensed eye doctor in the US = optician in the UK, so again I assume that a prescription for glasses written by an optician = written script from an eye doctor. Am I correct in this assumption?

I just took my glasses into Walmart and they read the prescription from them.. Had my prescription sunglasses within the week..
