Although there are one or two communities that offer a shuttle service I don%26#39;t think they are that good and not that cheap either.Unfortunately without a car staying in a villa is going to be almost impossible and taxi fares may well make it prohibitive.

I would suggest a pm to scan60 giving the villa address. He is the expert on the lynx busses and is very helpfull.

If you don%26#39;t drive then I would give a villa up as a bad job!

The area where most villas are situated is not well served by public transport. Do you have a specific villa in mind? If you let us know the advice could be tailored to that particular area.

If you still want suite type saccommodation, look at the Lake Buena Vista area. There are many resorts which offer 1, 2 and 3 bed condo style accommodation. This gives you the benefit of your own %26#39;home from home%26#39; but with the advantage of resort facilities. Many of these resorts provide transport to the parks.

Agree with what AndyRoo16 says. Whilst there is a perfectly usable bus service in the Greater Orlando area, many of the villa complexes are situated at or beyond the periphery of the service area. Which may make it wholly non-practical, or may involve a long walk.

If you want to do a non-driving holiday to Orlando, you can, so long as you choose where you stay with care. As I always stay in hotels, I can%26#39;t say how easy a task this will be.

At this stage, all I can suggest is that you download a copy of the LYNX system map from www.golynx.com and use this, together with location information about potential villa sites, to guide you about potential locations.

If you want me to help evaluate any specific locations from a bus perspective, I%26#39;d be happy to do so as best I can. In the meantime, is there any accmodation which you feel you%26#39;d like at Vista Cay?

I agree with the above posts. A villa with private pool and no car is a nonstarter.

What made you think a villa was a good idea? If it isn%26#39;t the pool, but is the space/extra beds and baths, kitchen and washer/dryer then you do have options as a non driver (although I always rent a car myself).

There are condos (mostly timeshares) but you can rent them like hotel rooms. They are mostly 1/2 beds but some have 3 bedrooms. Some of the Marriot ones are well located to bus routes, as well as say Floridays. I also use Cypress Pointe myself sometimes as it is walking distance to over 10 restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacy, etc plus DTD is a long walk or short cheap taxi away. They have shuttles to parks from there, but I don%26#39;t know if there is a fee or not as i don%26#39;t use them.

You don%26#39;t get a private pool at these complexes, but they do have pools (some very nice) and they have other facilities like games rooms, snack bars, tennis courts etc. Some even have kid activities.

many thanks for all your valued opinions-i will now do a lot more research,to see if it is possible to hire out either a villa or condo, without the use of a car.

many thanks again.
