We are traveling to Disney World Aug 22-31. We are a family of 4, kids are 12 and 7. We will be staying at Wilderness Lodge and only doing disney, no car. I can%26#39;t decide if it%26#39;s better to plan one park a day or have the option of hopping. I%26#39;d appreciate any insight or advice. Thanks!
Park hopper or base ticket?
As long as the extra cost isn%26#39;t a problem, I would say hop! This option gives you much more flexibility, so once you have done all the Disney Parks you can then go back and maybe just do half days at certain parks so you can do rides and attractions that you enjoyed for a second time...
Enjoy your trip.... :)
Park hopper or base ticket?
I would say have the option of hopping, we did,nt and were sorry as it is very convenient.
To park-hop or not to park-hop, that is the question, and it%26#39;s hard to say.
With children of those ages, it%26#39;s much easier to do the park-hopping and if they get bored at one park, you can go to another one.
For us Disney veterans, park-hopping is just a normal thing to do, so unless this is your very firt visit, I recommend getting the park hopper. It%26#39;s a flat fee of $47.93 on each ticket, regardless of how many days your tickets are for.
I would agree, if it%26#39;s in the Budget. It will give you more options for Dining and for taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours
Wilderness Lodge is Wonderful, Enjoy :)
Don%26#39;t forget to check the Park Hours for your stay
www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm
that will help you get the most out of each day
I used the park hopper. I was told after that it%26#39;s cheaper to buy extra days and every time you switch a park you use another day,not sure if this is right but might be worth checking out.
We have always ';park hopped';. We initially plan one whole day at each park. Towards the end of our trip is when we hop.
The day we go to a water park.....a few hours is enough for us. In the evening, we go back to a park. It%26#39;s entirely different seeing it in the dark. It%26#39;s cooler and less crowded too. Especially if you take advantage of the extra magic hours.
On the day we go to Animal Kingdom, we%26#39;ll be done early - always are. Even if we make it to closing, that%26#39;s 8:00 pm. That night the Magic Kingdom is open until 2:00 am. We%26#39;ve voted to go back and stay as late as we can stay awake instead of going back for our favorites the next morning. It%26#39;ll be cooler and less crowded. The next morning we%26#39;ll sleep in then head to another park that we want to repeat before going home.
On our last day, we usually go to MK one last time, but having already done it at night, we%26#39;ll choose another.....last trip , husband %26amp; son went to one park %26amp; daughter %26amp; I went to MK for more autographs %26amp; ';kiddie'; type stuff. Met back together at 1:00 pm before heading to the airport.
The specific hopping isn%26#39;t usually planned. The last 1-2 days of our trip isn%26#39;t either. With the park hopper, you can basicly do whatever you want without planning ahead.
BIGDT,
What you propose is not allowed by Disney. You cannot use an ';extra day'; on your park tickets to park hop to another park on any given day. The computers which run the entry gates can read your ticket and know what you are attempting and they will not allow entry. Cast members will not override this either.
If you enter a park, then want to go to another later in the day, you MUST have the park-hopper option on your ticket. You cannot simply use another day%26#39;s admission.
I say dont hop. One park per day, you can get more done and wont waste time from one park to the next. Average time to hop I would say at least 45 min to an hour.
We (family of 4, myself, hubby, 15 year old daughter and 6 year old son) usually do not ';park hop';. Like the previous poster said, you spend alot of time going between parks. We always plan our table service meal at the park we will be at for the day or at a nearby resort. For example, for our trip in October, we will spend a day at MK and then have dinner over at The Wave at the Contemporary and if we feel like it, head back into MK afte dinner. Other nights, dinner is at the park we are spending the day at. We are only there for 4 nights, so don%26#39;t want to waste alot of time travelling between parks.
But, each family is different, so you can always buy the park hopper option, if cost is not an issue, and you have it available to you if you want to use it.
Enjoy your trip!
Before Disney started charging extra for the hopper pass we would go from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom and that was about it. Once they started charing we went with the regular pass. It would have been nice to split that extra day between EPCOT and Magic Kingdom..but they extra cost was just too much for the benefit received.
