given the present economic climate, where companies are closing and unemployment rising.would it be prudent to delay booking a holiday for this year, and especially 2009.I know people save, and borrow and pay on credit card, the facts are with the rise of oil prices its going to get more difficult to save and borrow.

I want to book, for august 2009, my good lady does not..and I can see her point..

I also know every one elses finances are different.

Firstly i dont think prices are going to come down, countries which were considered third world are now economic powerhouses guzzling fuel,and there just isnt enough to go around, so the prices are going to stay high. well thats what we are lead to believe.

What i have noticed this year is the fact spring /summer fares have remained high, whilst the winter fares have become a bit more realistic, (b.a virgin have sales on at the minute for dec)and fares can be had for around the 拢300 mark).

So it looks like the rich will be flying in the spring and summer months and the unfortunates will be in florida, shivering in the winter, (can you hear the violins)?

SRS 1940 i would consider booking for next August, because next summer you will be chomping at the bit to go when you are sitting in your house watching the ';downpour'; which is classified as the british summer.

Its all over for the Human Race in 2012 according to the Myans .

12-21-12, It has something to do with the movement of the earths axis where all of the planets line up. It will mess up the tides and start massive flooding. Not necessarily the end of the world just major change in the mother nature that could be devastating.

So no good saving lol ,blow it on fun fun fun.

Nemmis i watched a documentary about 15 years ago which basically said the same thing, it was called ';the jupiter menace'; and you are right its when the big boy planets line up and the gravity would indeed tilt our axis, and we end up all to cock, so to speak.

They thought the mammoth which were dug up in Siberia were a victim of this, because still frozen in their mouths were vegetation from lower plains, and these beasts were discovered miles away from any such feeding grounds, so the theory is they were hurtled at great speed to Siberia.

So when the mayan prophesy comes true, i wonder if i will be hurtled at great speed (faster than virgin) toward Florida?

that would make a great theme park, time travel..in a police box..go back in time for a really inexpensive holiday

Even, given the current state of affairs with fuel, i still think that there are more holidays than there are people booking them.

I therefore am sticking to my guns and booking in January, when i know they%26#39;ll still be a sale on.

It%26#39;s slightly diferent for us, as we%26#39;re not going in the school holidays. There%26#39;s no way i%26#39;m pandering to the panick booking hysteria.

I i%26#39;d booked last year for this May, i%26#39;d%26#39;ve lost 拢700 on flights. I%26#39;m not naive enough to expect the same saving for next May, but i%26#39;m more than confident that i%26#39;ll beat the 拢620 that BA and Virgin are currently offering.
