How is La Concha?

OK so everyone has convinced me to make my reservations, any thoughts on La Concha. Is it the busy part of Duval? I%26#39;ve obviously never been to KW

How is La Concha?

LaConcha is an old hotel, small rooms, but very well located. If you%26#39;re on an upper floor you%26#39;ll have a beautiful view. For similar money we could put you in a better room but you have to tell us what you want.

How is La Concha?

My other thought was the reach resort but I dont want to have a long way to stagger back at the end of the night. A pool would be nice since it is hot and humid in Aug. I%26#39;m flying in so I won%26#39;t have a car but I hear that is not a problem. La Concha was running about $144 a night and the reach $170 so that is kind of my price range. I coming solo as well. I%26#39;m not a fancy girl but I don%26#39;t want dumpy either. Any suggestions?

between the two, I%26#39;d go Reach. Brand new renovations, beutiful property, a little farther away from all the drag bars but you%26#39;ll get over that soon enough with the amenties the Reach provides.

THe La Concha is nice but a 1940%26#39;s hotel. Tiny rooms, slow tiny elevator, all it really offers is a view.

The Reach wins!

How long of a walk would I have to get to other end of Duval?

I don%26#39;t know guys..........I am sorta thinking of going with the La Concha on this one. Simply because she is a single traveler and never has been to Key West. The location is hard to beat unless you want to be on the water. The rooms are small but for one person, they should be fine. I agree about getting one of the higher floors. Its no fun walking back to your hotel by yourself after a night of eating and drinking. A shorter walk might be nicer.

Duval is just over a mile long.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions BUT La Concha is no longer available for the time I need. I guess you snooze you loose! I%26#39;ll have to go with the reach and grab a scooter :)Thanks Do they give DUIs out on scooters?

Yes, you can get a DUI on a scooter. Besides that you aren%26#39;t well protected while riding it. Use caution.

If it%26#39;s a pool you%26#39;re after, you may be able to find a B%26amp;B closer to the action than the Reach in the price range you%26#39;re looking at since Aug is well off season. Then you could aviod renting a scooter for your entire trip. Rent for a day and explore the island.
