Looking for a beach house-Gulf Front

I would like a beach house anywhere in between PCB %26amp; Destin on 30-A or even in Destin that is Gulf Front. I have stayed hundreds of times in condos, but I want to be right on beach for trip in October, would also like to bring my dog, it will just be me %26amp; my husband. I have been researching for days, and am very suprised at how few homes I have found in that area that are gulf front.

Anyone have any suggestions to search or have been to a house like this? Been to vrbo, emerald coast rentals, sowal.com, vacationrentals, etc.

Most of the Beach Front homes in Destin are going to be 4+ Bedroom monsters and not many will be pet-friendly..... If your dog is a must, start your search with a pet-friendly choice.... might have to concentrate on the 30A area as well.......

Southern Resorts lets you select beach front and pet friendly in your search. They helped us track down a last minute property. You can also check with Allen Dunes or Dale E. Peterson rentals. We saw alot of beach front cottages while traveling down 30A last week. Good luck!

Oops that%26#39;s Dune Allen and I just checked their website and they have an ocean front that is pet friendly. Their web is beautifulbeach.com.

actually I was searching pet friendly yesterday! I found a GREAT beach front (ram%26#39;s gate?)on VRBO that allowed dogs. I can zoom through the listing from neighborhood to neighborhood, only looking at the dog paw. For my time frame they would only do 4 nights and I could only do 3. It was an amazing view!

I believe it was in the scenic 98 section. It was great and I have it socked away for the future.

Dogs are allowed on Walton County beaches by permit only. They have been known to ticket and I believe I heard it was a costly ticket.

From Walton County website:

Dogs on the Beach:

All dogs shall be prohibited from public beaches of Walton County except as provided below:

1. Dogs assisting those who are sight and hearing impaired or service animals.

2. Dogs with a Walton County Dog Beach Permit

The Walton County Tax Collector serves as an agent for the Board of County Commissioners for the issue of these permits. The Tax Collector is in no way liable for the actions of animals permitted in accordance with the ordinance (i.e. property damage, bites, or harm to persons). You may access the Walton County Tax Collector%26#39;s website from this website -- click on Constitutional at the top of the main page, then select Tax Collector.

Walton County ordinances set forth the guidelines and requirements to allow dogs to join their owners on the beaches of Walton County.

To obtain a Beach Dog Permit you must meet the following requirements:

You must be either:

A property owner in Walton County, or

A permanent, year-round resident of Walton County and furnish a valid Walton County voter%26#39;s registration card or a valid driver%26#39;s license with a verifiable Walton County street/911 address.

Note: Proof of property ownership will be verified by the tax collector%26#39;s employees at the time of application.

You must also provide documentation from your veterinarian that your dog(s) vaccinations are current. Please note that the name of the dog owner on the vet records must match the name of the property ownership records of the tax collector.

The cost of the license is $30.00 per year and each permit issued shall be for a period of one year and will expire August 1st of each year, with a grace period until August 15th of each year. Proof of property ownership and updated vaccination records must be verified at each renewal.

Permit renewal and new permits are available for issue at both Walton County Tax Collector locations in DeFuniak Springs or the South Walton Courthouse Annex.

The VRBO link provided is for a condo....the OP wants a house. I will be watching this thread as we are only two people with a dog that would love to stay in a house on the beach. We choose houses over condos, but have never been able to find the right one that is gulf front.

even tho the OP stated ';house'; there are quite a few townhouses in the Crystal Beach/Miramar section of Destin and many have 2 bedroms. I%26#39;d checkout vrbo since thats were we found the townhouse that we stay at in Destin - Sanddollar townhouses.
