Is it too long to spend a day and evening in one park???

Planning!!!

As above in Magic Kingdom really

Is it too long to spend a day and evening in one park???

Since you have little ones you might want to take a break in the afternoon. If you do not want to travel all the way back to POR, you could always go to one of the monorail resorts and eat there.

Is it too long to spend a day and evening in one park???

we did it for mvmcp in mk in dec 06 with a 5 and a 10 year old. we were there for park opening at 9am and stayed til 10pm. my 5 year old fell asleep in her dads arms while we were queueing to meet santa at city hall which was our cue to leave!

yes everyone was tired but it was also the most magical day we ever had at mk. we were well prepared with drinks and snacks and had our park strategy worked out. we did fantasyland and tomorrowland early in the day. took a break for lunch at 2pm in CRT. then we just strolled around main street and took it easy until 6pm wishes. and then we tackled frontierland and adventureland and because it was mvmcp we practically walked on everything.

we had plenty of breaks for the girls, and a stroller each for when they got tired. it depends how old your kids are as well. i dont think toddlers would handle the day so well.

We always try to spend a full day there (granted we don%26#39;t have children), but we do take time during the day to relax a little and catch a 2nd wind.

Depending on the crowds and the time you take to see the parades and shows, you may very well need a full day to see and do it all...sometimes more than one day is needed if crowds are really heavy.

We almost always spend opening to closing at Magic Kingdom. This last trip, we got to stay more days, so we did take a break in the afternoon to go to the pool. But....we did 2 days at Magic Kingdom.

We start the day ';on a mission'; to get those popular rides in without the wait. Then we slow down %26amp; just wander and do whatever we like. We repeat our favorite rides at night. The haunted Mansion is a different experience at night than day....Big Thundermountain too.

You don%26#39;t want to miss Spectromagic.

This past June, with a 6 and 7 year old, we needed a break about 3 or 4 pm. Went back to our Resort ( POR ) and had a nice swim and then had a bite to eat and headed back to the Park around 7. One night we stayed til 2am and still the kids weren%26#39;t tired until we got on the bus and the 6 year old fell asleep :)

When it%26#39;s been just a Grown-up Trip, we%26#39;ve lasted all day and night with just a little Break for Dinner at one of the Resorts

checkers - we do exactly the same - even pop over to another park for an hour or so before the parades/fireworks start....but we too don%26#39;t have children...

We%26#39;ve been to Disney the past four years and every time we go, pick a park and spend the day. My kids are now 5 and 9. I personally think it%26#39;s too much to leave and come back...especially MK. I deffinately agree with some of the other posts and recommend that you plan to do most of your rides as early as possible, take a rest (hang out at Cosmic Rays for example) and just soak in the rest of the magic with no specific agenda (of course, that will depend on the crowds). If you can stick around in one park a day, you can save a ton of money by purchasing the base tickets instead of the hopper passes. Many people swear by the hopper passes, but to me it%26#39;s not cost effective. The food isn%26#39;t horribly expensive which makes leaving to do lunch not that big of a savings. Disney will even allow you to bring food into the park. Just don%26#39;t plan on a big sit down dinner. There are enough ';fast food'; restaurants at all the parks and I think the food is actually pretty good!!

We always do a full day and evening in MK on each visit and this is always with my neice and nephews who on our last vist ranged from 11yrs old down to 4yrs old and have never had any problems....

They are usually prety popped come the end of the night, but were fine, too much going on for them to fall asleep! The youngest use to have a sleep in the buggy mid afternoon, so we use this time for a relax break for us all, just find a quiet corner in the shade and sit down with an ice cream for a while.

We also make the day after MK a ';rest day'; so just chill by the pool or go to a water park which we find relaxing. Always sleep in the day after MK and it recharges the batteries.

It works for us.... :)

Just the other weekend we did 14 hours between the Epcot and HS. THe following day 11 hours at MK. Now we are all adults. Tired but happy when Monday rolled around!

I think it%26#39;s too long but it depends on crowds, heat and humidity.

I did that in the early days but since the introduction of the Ultimate Ticket, have always broken it down into more manageable chunks. It is possible to have too much of a good thing - having observed many tantrums over the years, due to tiredness, I think a break can be good.

Incidentally, these tantrums can be very, very embarassing but, since breaking the visits up, I have never had any more tantrums, to the relief of my wife.
