Oldies Music & Dancing for Baby Boomer

My wife and I are staying at Fort Myers Beach Sep - 22-25. We are in our 50%26#39;s and enjoy oldies music and dancing. Is there any local bar with a DJ or Live music that would have dancing on week nights week in mid September?

Check out Loggerheads, They sometimes have a band that plays fun oldies music and pack the dance floor. They also do kareoke and other music so you might want to call beforehand to find out who%26#39;s playing that night. Maybe try Parrot key? We%26#39;ve been on Friday nights before and they were playing some live oldies music that was fun. But not sure if that is every friday night or just happened to be a coincidence. Sept is pretty slow so there is not a whole lot going on.

Probably the best thing to do is to pick up copies of the three free weekly newspapers, which are available throughout the island at businesses and in boxes. These are: The Observer, the Bulletin, and the Sand Paper. They will list what is going on and a couple of them (I think Sand Paper %26amp; Observer) have listings of who is playing where.

Parrot Key is a good one - I live within earshot of there and they have different ';themes.'; If you call I%26#39;m sure they will be happy to tell you which night is oldies night.

I know of a place in Bonita Springs, probably about 20 minutes south on Bonita Beach Rd called Sneaky Petes. They have live music every night that caters to the more mature crowd. Lots of dancing and fun.

Hope that helps!

Check the local papers for where Richie C and Daz are playing. Also Ebony and Ivory.
