Suitcase size on Virgin Atlantic

For those of you not aware!

The 62 inches total diameter given by VA for all your travelling cases is complete and utter rubbish!

When we arrived at Gatwick we noticed most other people had much bigger cases than allowed! We had small, correctly sized holdalls - we didn%26#39;t take our suitcases due to all the printed sizes on our tickets we%26#39;d got online!

When we asked the woman booking us in if the 62 inches was correct, she advised, no - you can take any suitcase as long as the weights within the guidelines!!!

I was so annoyed. We had to buy another case over there so we could bring back all the stuff we%26#39;d bought AND because VA CUT one of the handles to our Samsonite holdall!!

There%26#39;s a letter of complaint already sent to Richard Branson about everything.

Reminds me of how VA managed to pull the handles off one of our bags a while back. When I complained I was told to take it to a show repair place to get it repaired, but VA wouldn%26#39;t pay or compensate.

They suggested the bag was too heavy for the handles - funny how I managed to carry it in and out of so many hotel rooms and car boots when they couldn%26#39;t move it few yards on and off the aircraft....
