Magical Express for Canadians

HI,

Just got our travel documents today for our trip to Disney with our 4 year old grandson on August 30. Very excited!

As a Canadian coming into the US and having to clear customs, do we put the yellow tags on our luggage for the ME people to pick them up, or do we pick them up ourselves and bring them on the bus?

I think I read that we have to pick them up first and then hand them over back to ME staff, but if we already have our baggage, shouldn%26#39;t we just keep it so we have it when we get to the hotel?

Thanks!

JO

Magical Express for Canadians

You might as well just take them with you at that point

What time does your flight get in ?

Magical Express for Canadians

We are Canadian but flew in this trip from Bahamas. We had to claim our own luggage and then check in with ME desk and kept our luggage in line with us till we loaded the bus. I was under the impression that had we put on the yellow tags we would not have had to claim our luggage. However we booked the trip the day before so obviously did not have the yellow tags. When you land there is a ME person that can direct you as to what to do.

We land at 10:40am on August 30th.

I%26#39;m still not sure if we should put the yellow tags on, what if ME staff take the bags before we can claim them for customs (or is that even possible?)

I have no problem with getting my bags, I just don%26#39;t want to put the tags on and then not be able to find the bags and have to get a late start to our vacation trying to track them down.

If we have to claim our luggage ourselves, is there any advantage to putting the tags on?

Thanks again,

JO

We have flown into Orlando 5 times from Canada and the once this year from Bahamas. When you land in Orlando you take the tram to the main terminal and go straight to the luggage carousels. You clear US customs in Ontario when you leave. You will clear Canadian Customs back in Ontario. Put on the yellow tags and Disney Magical Express will pick up your bags and take care of them for you. When we flew this year as I mentioned from Bahamas we didn%26#39;t have the yellow tags but Disney Magical Express Personnel told us that they would still track down our luggage and have it delivered but it would take 4 hours...we opted out as we had been in the Bahamas for 2 weeks and wanted to get to our hotel and do some laundry!

I agree with 21

If you were arriving late in the day, I would have gone with my first recomendation of getting your own bags

Make sure you take a carry on bag with anything you might need right away including but not limited to Meds, swimsuit and a smile

Have a swell Holiday with your Grandson :)

Sorry guys, I don%26#39;t quite understand......how do we clear US customs in Ontario?

I would much rather not have to wait for our luggage and go directly to the hotel, I just want to make sure we don%26#39;t inadvertently leave our luggage behind at the airport uncleared.

Sorry to be so dense, but I%26#39;ve never cleared customs while still in Canada, so I%26#39;m not sure how that works.

Thanks once more!!!!

JO

When we fly from Calgary to Orlando here is what happens. We check in at the Airline counter, proceed to US Customs and then our luggage is gone...off to Florida! We arrive in Orlando be it direct or after Houston, Denver, Min, etc...we take the tram to the main terminal and proceed directly to the baggage claim area (no customs) if we are getting our bags. If you are doing ME you tag your bags in Ontario and Disney gets your luggage for you at MCO and delivers it to your resort. If you are worried in the least as Pa mentioned just go to the baggage claim get your luggage and proceed to the Magical Express counter or you will see a Magical Express person standing clearly as you are walking through the main terminal and you can discuss with them exactly what to do. We stopped and asked the girl what to do as we had not tagged our bags...she said we could either get our bags and proceed to ME check in or they would get our bags even without the tags however it would be a 4 hour wait to get to our room.

found this online hope it helps

To ensure seamless service, please make your Disney%26#39;s Magical Express reservation at least 30 days in advance of your arrival date.

Several weeks prior to your arrival, you will receive an Airport Transportation Booklet containing general information and special barcoded luggage tags which you will attach to your luggage before departure.

Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, you will be greeted by a Disney representative who will direct you to the Disney Airport Welcome Center in Terminal B.

You will then depart for your Walt Disney World庐 Resort hotel in a complimentary motor coach while your luggage goes straight from the plane to your room.

Check-in to your Walt Disney World庐 Resort hotel, and your luggage will be delivered to your room.

At the end of your stay, enjoy the same convenience of Disney%26#39;s Magical Express service from your Walt Disney World庐 Resort hotel to Orlando International Airport.

You will clear customs in Toronto.

Once you arrive in Orlando you can just keep going to your Bus and the lugage will be delivered to your hotel room a few hours later.

There is no need to worry about when you land because you will have already gone through customs before you left Canada.

If you have your yellow tags on your luggage it should not take 4 hours to get to your resort...I think that was because we didn%26#39;t have ours tagged!

Say hi to Mickey!!
