Tom Sawyer Island

As many times as I%26#39;ve been to the Magic Kingdom, I have never been over to Tom Sawyer Island. Is it worth a visit, for two 50-something adults?

Tom Sawyer Island

Hi Ethelmae,

Yes it is..IMO. Not much going on,but it%26#39;s peaceful, and a nice spot for a coffee or a cold drink. My sister and I are in our 50s,and enjoyed sitting there waving to the people going by on the riverboat. (Like 2 big goofs) As you know..after 50,there%26#39;s always a good excuse to rest the feet!

If you are not having a ';rush around'; day at Magic Kingdom, it%26#39;s a great little ';get away'; area of the park, with a nice little walking trail around the island.

I loved that film of Tom Sawyer - it was always one of my favourites and the first thing we did after getting into MK was to go on the island and run acroos that bridge.

Quite right you two ... it is a haven of peace but I honestly expect it to go in favour of something more modern.

Perhaps I should rely on Disney%26#39;s stupour and lack of investment to leave this wonderful attraction alone for a few years yet.

I bet they are waiting for the remake ... again

Thanks! I%26#39;ll give it a try this time.

actually Tom Sawyer island was on WDW %26#39;enangered list%26#39; until the current head imagineer (or something like that) was hired. He has poublicily stated that TSI is his favourite part of the park!

so expect it to be around at least as long as he is!

I have been to MK many times during my 5 holidays to florida, but I have never been to tom sawyer island due to the fact that it is not accessible for people in wheelchairs or buggies and there has always been at least one person in the party that needs one of those.

I hope during my next trip my son will have learnt to walk well enough to give it a little try..I really dont like the idea of carrying a 6yr old around.

if you go there early in the morning look for little paint brushes...

They are hidden in every possible hole! :-)

If you find one go to the next cast member and he will give you a fast pass for that (Splash Mountain or BTMR)

No, I had my pills!!! I麓m not kidding!!

:-)))

Thanks for this post, never been before but will go next week.

Ohhhh...tillykate is going next week!! Moose is a little jealous of tillykate..Oh I kid,I kid..Here%26#39;s wishing you a magical time tilly!!
