I took a look back and I first posted about Orlando in March 2007. I think we have finally decided on a week. 1st week of March? While disney lists this as peak. I believe we will be ahead of the spring break crowd. Anyone been this week or have an opinion? Thanks so much!
1st week of March
I think the first week of March next year would be a good week to go. Easter and Spring Break is far enough away that the crowd levels should be easy to manage. I say, go for it :)
1st week of March
partypa thanks for the quick reply. I think we will go for it. I was wishing for the 1st if May but hubby thinks it will be too hot. Trust me nothing can ruin a week faster than my hubby griping about the heat.
May could very well be quite Warm
Happy Husband = Happy Holiday
Nice to see you on the forum again :)
The only ';worry'; you have around that time is Bike Week, officially held in Daytona, but with some spill-over into Orlando.
If you must go in March, the first week is the week to go for sure.
Thanks to you both. The 1st week is definetly the only option for March any later and I would begin to worry about Spring Break and now bike week. When is bike week? And has anyone tried the water parks that early. Now I know the northerners think it is just fine to be swimming in January in Orlando. Us southerners need it a little warmer. I do know Orlando is quite a bit warmer than Arkansas though.
Bike Week will run most likely from Feb 28th to March 8th in 2009.
Oh well, on with the planning!
Just also pack some heavy clothes. The first week of March may be in the 80s or it may be in the 30s!!
We used to always go the first week of March, but had to go a different time due to high school testing. We went the first week in April. Big difference.
We figured since the parks are open later the first week of April we could still get everything done, we figured it would be good to visit both water parks versus only one being open.
It turned out to be completely different then our first week in March. It was crowded, we would leave the parks mid day to either go to the waterpark or to the resort. Yes the parks were open later but the lines were so bad you managed to do less in more time. We love the water parks, but would of visited one a few times and these too were crowded in April.
First week of March is a dream, yes it is Bike week and you do get some visitors for the day here and there but most do not bring their kids to Bike week so you are getting mostly adults that spill over.
Overall we would never go again during spring break, the first week in March is a dream.
Super glad to hear good reports about the week. Has anyone gone to the water parks the 1st of March. We are hoping for 80%26#39;s not 40%26#39;s. But nothing in life is a guarantee.
