After a little help with car hire, in the past when we have gone to Orlando we have booked with the likes of Virgin or Jetlife so everything was included. Our next trip I have been looking at doing things seprately and everything seems straight forward with the exception of Car Hire. I have been on the US Car hire webite and all seems fine in booking the car but my concern is that it says eveything is included and the are no hidden extras, but lokking at Virgin the car Hire is more expensive and you are supposed to be getting free car hire. Am I right to assume US car hire will hit me with massive insurance fees on arrival or could it be that going dirct with them is the cheaper option.
Any help is appreciated
Car Hire
I have seen several posts stating that %26#39;free%26#39; car rental is often more expensive than booking independently. The answer is to ignore the free car hire, but don%26#39;t tell Virgin, etc. Just don%26#39;t collect your car. Instead pre-book car hire with an alternative company, like US rent-a-car.
Car Hire
If you use a UK site such as carhire3000, usrentacar etc, then all insurance is included.
With some %26#39;free cars%26#39; and fly drives you will pay more than the cost of car hire in insurance.
To check which way to do it:
Pick you car size and price it seperately. Pick your flights and price them seperately (do both sev places). Then try the car and flight (incl all ins costs) together with say, Virgin Hols and Trailfinders or any others.
Then you will now which way to go, if you save booking together a %26#39;tour inclusive fare%26#39; or not.
Thanks for the help..
